About Us

Rang De Pride started because something was missing.

There was a gap, a silence we felt in both worlds. In our Desi communities, people didn’t want to acknowledge that queer folks like us existed. And in queer spaces, it felt like there weren’t enough of us to be seen, let alone centred.

But we exist.
We always have.

That’s where Rang De Pride came from. Rang De means “to colour” and for us, it’s a call to action: to colour our world with queer South Asian pride and visibility.

We know what it’s like to live in between things. To hold more than one truth. To crave a space where you don’t have to choose parts of yourself just to belong.

So we built it.

We’re based in Calgary, and we’re here for the community. For anyone who’s ever felt too queer for their culture or too cultural for the queer scene. We host parties, workshops, performances, spaces to dance, speak, cry, laugh, and just be.
